Written by the physicians, not by marketers.

Short, honest explanations of what Ayurvedic treatment involves — so you can decide whether it is right for you before you spend anything. Longer case-based articles from the research centre are being added here through the year.

Four things worth understanding first

What Panchakarma actually involves

Not a spa week. Three stages — preparation, the main procedures, and a carefully managed return to ordinary eating and activity — with the middle stage occupying only a few days of a longer programme.

Prakriti: why two people get different prescriptions

Constitution is assessed before anything is prescribed. It is the reason the same complaint in two people can lead to two protocols, two diets and two sets of medicines.

Preparing for a residential programme

What to bring, what to expect of the daily rhythm, how much rest is genuinely required, and why working through a Panchakarma week defeats the point of it.

Where you'll stay

Studying Ayurveda seriously

The difference between a therapist training and a physician's education, what our tracks cover module by module, and who each one is genuinely for.

Case notes from the research centre

Chakrapani has documented clinical cases since 1998. We are preparing a series of anonymised case notes — presentation, assessment, protocol, and outcome, including the cases where Ayurveda helped only partially. They will be published here as each is reviewed by the treating physician.

If you have a question about a specific condition in the meantime, a physician will answer it directly — that is more useful than a general article.
