Overview
Dashmoola Ghana Vati combines the classical Dashmoola group of ten roots with Shunthi and Ashwagandha. The ingredients are traditionally valued for supporting Vata balance, strength and comfortable movement.
It may be considered as part of Ayurvedic care when stiffness, musculoskeletal discomfort or general weakness are associated with Vata imbalance.
Traditional Ayurvedic Perspective
In Ayurveda, Dashmoola is traditionally regarded as an important Vata-supportive and Shothahara group of herbs. It is used in various classical preparations for conditions involving Vata imbalance, discomfort and swelling.
Shunthi provides traditional digestive support, while Ashwagandha is valued for nourishment and strength. The combination is therefore considered according to the individual’s constitution, digestion, strength and stage of recovery.

Research Highlights
Dashamoola and Anti-inflammatory Activity
Experimental study
A study evaluated Dashamoola preparations for analgesic and anti-inflammatory activity using established animal models.
The research found that Dashamoola preparations demonstrated analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects in the experimental models studied. The authors noted that the findings provide pharmacological support for some of the traditional uses of Dashamoola.
This was preclinical research and not a human clinical trial, so the findings should not be interpreted as proof that Dashmoola Ghana Vati treats pain or inflammatory disease in humans.
