Neurotransmitter Research
Laboratory study
A study investigated several Ayurvedic preparations, including Brahmi, Brahmi Vati, Brahmi Ghrita and Saraswata Ghrita, using a human neuroblastoma cell-line model. The researchers examined changes in neurotransmitters including GABA, serotonin and dopamine.
The findings provide preliminary laboratory evidence regarding possible effects on neurotransmitter pathways, but this was a cell-based study and not a clinical trial in humans.
