Research Highlights
Ginger Extract in Allergic Rhinitis
A randomized, double-blind controlled trial evaluated ginger extract in 80 patients with allergic rhinitis. Participants received 500 mg ginger extract or loratadine for 3–6 weeks.
The study reported significant improvements in nasal symptoms and quality of life in the ginger group, with no significant difference between ginger and loratadine for the main nasal symptom score. The ginger treatment was also well tolerated.
Relevance to Vyoshadi Vati: Ginger (Sunthi) is one of the ingredients in the Vyoshadi Vati formulation. However, this study evaluated a standalone ginger extract, not Vyoshadi Vati.
